Factors Affecting German Shepherd Training

There are lots of factors that can affect German Shepherd training, three of which are; the dog’s personality, environment and owner’s attitude. Problem on any of these factors may not only result to unsuccessful training but may also prompt the owner to abandon his pet.

Dog’s personality. The German Shepherd is an active and intelligent breed. While these two characteristics are useful in getting positive training result, this breed needs firm handling to make sure that they remain loyal, obedient and respectful.

Environment. A young puppy is less likely to focus on training if he is surrounded by distractions. When training a puppy or introducing a command for the first time, better choose a training area that is peaceful and has less distraction.

Owner’s attitude. Dogs cannot figure out commands on their own thus they are depending on their owners for instructions and guidance. Every responsible owner needs to have confidence, patience and determination in order to succeed.
